MUMBAI—Carolina Bajaj has stepped down from her role as deputy MD at Weber Shandwick India, just seven months after joining the firm.

Bajaj's exit  comes amid the arrival of new Weber Shandwick India CEO Valerie Pinto from Perfect Relations.

Weber Shandwick Asia-Pacific vice-chairman Baxter Jolly confirmed that Bajaj had left for "personal reasons", but declined to comment on whether the firm would seek to replace her position.

Weber Shandwick has bolstered its senior ranks following Pinto's hire by adding her former Perfect Relations colleague Rohan Kanchan as MD of consulting and strategy. Like Pinto, Kanchan spent more than a decade with Perfect Relations.

Prior to joining Weber Shandwick last year, Bajaj spent two years at Edelman. She also had a three-year stint heading comms for IPL team Kings XI Punjab, after spending six years leading corporate comms for the Wadia Group.
