MEMPHIS, TN — FedEx has promoted Patrick Fitzgerald to SVP of integrated marketing and communications as part of the restructuring the company started last year.

Fitzgerald will run the company’s advertising, sponsorship, brand and communications teams, reporting into Raj Subramaniam, EVP of marketing and communications. Subramaniam reports to Michael Glenn, president of FedEx Services, which houses marketing, sales, IT and communications, said Jenny Robertson, manager of global media at FedEx.

Last December, 16-year FedEx veteran Bill Margaritis took a voluntary buy-out, stepping down from his role as corporate VP of global communications and investor relations as the company sought to integrate marketing and communications to enhance efficiencies. Margaritis reported to Glenn.

According to an internal memo, Fitzgerald joined FedEx Ground in 2007 as director of communications and was promoted to VP of comms in 2011. Prior to this, he was a VP at Ketchum where he worked on the agency's FedEx business. He steps into his new role on April 15.
