NEW YORK—Burson-Marsteller has named Michael Law as its new US chief executive, replacing Dave DenHerder, who became CEO in 2012 after serving as CEO of Burson-Marsteller’s grassroots division Direct Impact. DenHerder will continue to work with Burson-Marsteller and its parent holding company WPP as a senior counselor for key clients.

Law joined Burson in February of 2013 as US president, having previously spent 20 years with WPP sister agency Ogilvy Public Relations. For the past year and a half, he has worked closely with DenHerder on client service and business development across the region, and on the recruitment and retention of top talent.

Immediately before joining Burson-Marsteller, Law led Ogilvy’s West Coast operations for nine years. Under his leadership, the market’s revenue and profit tripled and new practice areas were added. Law also held senior executive roles at Ogilvy in Singapore, Hong Kong and Washington, DC.
