NEW YORK—Robert Dowling is exiting FleishmanHillard, almost three years after joining the firm to oversee its New York office and Eastern region operatons.

Dowling's last day in the role is today. His Eastern region management responsibilities have been assumed by J.J. Carter, regional president of Fleishman's Western region, Canada and Mexico. 

Carter will also have oversight of the High Road Communications, Lois Paul & Partners and TogoRun brands that Dowling previously oversaw.

"Robert Dowling has left FleishmanHillard to pursue other opportunities," said FleishmanHillard CMO Stephanie Marchesi. "We thank Robert for his years of service and wish him continued success in his new endeavors."

Dowling joined Fleishman in 2012 after leading Weber Shandwick's New York operation.

Carter, who now oversees all of Fleishman's operations across North America, joined the firm as VP in 2005. He became GM of the San Francisco office in 2009.

Since 2011, Carter has been president of the Fleishman's Western region which includes offices in San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego. He was also named president of Fleishman's Canada offices two years ago, and last year added responsibility for Mexico City.
