LONDON--Ogilvy PR has appointed Kaitlyn Wilkins as regional director for the firm’s Digital Influence practice in EMEA.

Wilkins relocates to London from Washington DC, where she was VP of digital strategy within the same unit. She will report to both Ogilvy & Mather EMEA chief digital officer Patou Nuytemans, and Ogilvy PR’s US-based Digital Influence MD John Bell.

Wilkins told the Holmes Report she will focus on “client service, capacity building and training” for a team that is spread across 17 markets in the region.

Wilkins also played a key role overseeing Lenovo’s Voice of the Olympics programme during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. “I’m excited about the Olympics in 2012,” she said. “There have been changes in terms of platforms available to athletes and to fans. London is the first summer games with a big social playing field.”

Wilkins joined Ogilvy in 2007, prior to which she worked at New Media Strategies.
