NEW YORK—Porter Novelli has appointed Michael Ramah as chief client officer. He will work closely with senior leadership, including newly-appointed chief executive Karen van Bergen, on both agency and client-side teams to drive innovation, best practices and growth.

Ramah’s appointment comes on the heels of his having spent the latter half of 2012 serving as acting CEO of the agency.

According to van Bergen, “As the architect of our industry-leading strategic planning and research discipline, Michael can swiftly determine what clients need in order to ensure their business and communications objectives are in alignment and that they are positioned for solid growth.”

Prior to joining Porter Novelli, Ramah was manager of marketing services at Seven-Up International, with responsibility for worldwide implementation of non-advertising based brand support.
