SINGAPORE: Carson Dalton is departing his position within the BT UK press office to return to Asia, taking on a new role overseeing comms for BT in Southeast Asia.

Based in Singapore, the former BT India comms head will manage PR and analyst relations for the Southeast Asia, along with strategic initiatives across Asia-Pacific. His appointment brings his 18 month sojourn at BT Group’s UK HQ to a close.Dalton arrived in the UK in March 2009, after a successful two-year stint as head of corporate comms for BT India, during which he was recognised as the Young PR Professional of the Year at the 2008 Asia-Pacific PR Awards.

“My objective is to work alongside the team to raise the profile of BT in the region,” said Dalton, who will report to BT Asia-Pacific comms head Richard Wright.

Dalton will relocate to Singapore in September. Prior to joining BT he held a client-side role at Idea Cellular, after an earlier stint at Indian PR firm Genesis Burson-Marsteller.
