Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

 

As Vice PresidentTalent Management Partner and DEI Lead, you will work closely with our MMC business leaders and employees to drive our Talent agenda of “Find, Keep, Grow” forward.

 

You'll be a champion of MMC’s talent, partnering with our business leaders to help them build their teams. Whether coaching on how to integrate teams, navigate and resolve employee relations issues or managing programs that help develop our people, you will be exceptionally focused on putting them first.

 

Our VP, Talent Management Partner and DEI Lead ensures our employee experience is the best that it can be. This will require change management, problem solving, analytical and execution skills, along with empathy. You'll focus on staffing experiences, providing timely responses, sharing knowledge and feedback with fellow team members and balancing the individual needs with MMC’s philosophy, principles and values.

You will help build and drive change, refine processes and practices, influence and mentor others and build strong relationships with leaders and employees. You will work seamlessly in our fast paced, high growth environment. Working as a strategic partner, you will connect the Talent agenda with overall business goals and opportunities for the agency, helping to continue to drive organizational transformation and an agency of inclusion.

This is a critical role which reports to the Chief People Officer.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:  

  • Lead, design, execute and track successful Talent Management programs. Tactics will include team design sessions, proactive workforce planning, development of Talent plans (in partnership with Practice leads)
  • Proactively consult and advise on current and future staffing needs
  • Guide and coach managers on how to appropriately manage and resolve complex talent issues (e.g., performance management, agency terms, PIPS, career development, employee relations/retention).
  • Promote a culture of feedback and open communication, reinforcing our mission and core values
  • Lead the full performance management cycle (facilitate Talent Review sessions, provide feedback and guidance on reviews and promotion recommendations, compensation planning, 9-box planning, retention efforts). Build out of Talent Management software via Culture Amp platform
  • Continue to move our DE&I agenda forward and serve as Strategic Advisor/Counselor to senior agency leaders in areas of agency transformation and innovation (i.e., address new innovative offerings, etc.)
  • Stay knowledgeable about DEI trends/practices, and able to manage, discuss, and facilitate conversations on challenging topics with sensitivity
  • Partner with business leaders and the CPO to provide thought leadership regarding organizational and people-related strategy and execution as well as DEI

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • 8+ years of HR related experience in Talent Management and DEI initiatives
  • Outstanding communications skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
  • Well-developed analytical skills
  • Previous experience managing junior team members a plus
  • Knowledge of HR policies and procedures including local, state, and federal compliance required
  • Collaborative, thoughtful talent leader who sees the big picture and is not afraid to get involved in all aspects of the role - no job is too big or too small
  • Proven knowledge, skill and education in the areas of diversity, inclusion, community development, equity and cultural competence
  • Genuine curiosity and strong desire to continuously learn, grow and help others develop
  • Ability to influence at the leadership and executive level; must have superior relationship-building expertise
  • Impeccable judgment and ability to balance the needs of the company, managers and employees
  • Comfortable with open communication and giving and receiving open, constructive feedback in a  respectful manner
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

The anticipated salary range for this position is (125K – 180K). Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
