Maja covers news and analyses of PR, reputation and communications trends and issues across Europe, the Middle East and Africa for PRovoke Media. She is also responsible for the publication’s annual Influence 100 listing of the world’s most influential in-house chief communications and marketing officers, and the Innovator 25 for EMEA, signposting the industry’s gamechangers across the region.
She also hosts regular PRovoke podcasts and chairs events and panel sessions at regional and global summits for PRovoke Media and industry partners including ICCO and AMEC.
Maja been writing about public relations since 1999, first as features editor of PRWeek, where she was named Haymarket Publishing’s business journalist of the year, then working independently with PR agencies – from boutiques to global networks – as an editor, editorial consultant and content writer.
Before returning to journalism with PRovoke Media at the start of 2018, Maja spent three years as Weber Shandwick’s EMEA editor, where her role as part of the regional marketing team included writing hundreds of shortlisted and winning award entries, shaping the agency’s presence at global events from AdWeek Europe to Cannes Lions, and managing the EMEA blog, website content and social media feeds.
In 2019 Maja was named Journalist of the Year at the Global Women in Marketing Awards, where the judges noted: “Maja proves how empathy can drive brilliant editorial thinking. She is clearly an absolute expert in her field and proves that you can challenge an industry while also championing it.”
Maja was named as a Fellow of the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) in 2021 for her outstanding contribution to the PR industry.
