Mary Njoki, with a background that included a year as an actress with the Kenyan National Theater, a couple of years working with IT companies, and only a brief stint working with one of Kenya’s largest public relations and events companies, launched Glass House PR in 2012, and in the years since her entrepreneurial spirit has propelled Glass House into the upper echelons of West Africa’s burgeoning public relations business, now providing pan-African solutions to clients spanning the technology, finance, and real estate sectors and more.

A key differentiator is the ability to deliver pan-African campaigns from its Kenyan HQ—the nation is emerging as an alternative hub to South Africa. Glass House has a network of offices in Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Nigeria and South Africa and its reach extends to Burundi, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire—all supported by proficiency in multiple African languages.

The agency offers a range of services including marketing and branding, digital strategies, media relations, crisis management, and PR training. Notable clients include major brands like the thiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency, Facebook, National Geographic Nissan, Oppo, Uber, Viber, and the Walt Disney Company, and highlights of the work include the launch of Uber Kenya’s Economic Impact Report, the introduction of "Team Sayari," a new environmental kids show on National Geographic, and the firm’s own work on the Pan-African Public Relations Report.

The firm now has a team of 17 at its headquarters and a network of consultants for scalable projects. Njoki has developed a values-driven approach that emphasizes trustworthiness, integrity, accountability, and an Africa-centric approach. The culture celebrates clarity, open communication, and a growth mindset.—Paul Holmes
