Founded in August 2011 by Stelios Zontos, Gravity The Newtons serves as the corporate communications and public relations arm of advertising agency The Newtons Laboratory. Zontos is widely regarded as one of Greece’s leaders in corporate communications, public relations, public affairs and political relations. His career milestones include serving as a key member of the Greek team that contributed to the European Commission’s CSR Green Paper in 2000. From 2001 to 2004, he was director of the office for deputy foreign minister Tassos Giannitsis, and in 2003, he led communications efforts for Greece during its presidency of the European Union.
Before founding Gravity, Zontos held a leadership role at Leo Burnett, overseeing corporate communications, CSR, and crisis management for high-profile clients. Now chairman of the agency, he still plays an active role at Gravity, where he leads strategy and operations.
Gravity had strong revenue growth of 21% in 2024, securing nine new clients in the food and beverage, retail, and telecommunications sectors, who joined a high-profile roster that also includes IKEA, Pfizer, Gilead, BMW, Amgen, Vodafone Foundation, ExxonMobil, PwC, Lidl and Port of Piraeus Authority, as well as other clients across the finance, technology, health, and entertainment sectors.
The agency's standout work last year included a smart farming initiative for Athenian Brewery, which used data-driven insights to empower local farmers and promote sustainability. The campaign garnered extensive media coverage with six million impressions. Another significant project was the 'Under the Stars' basketball tournament for Panathinaikos BC AKTOR, where the agency transformed the historic Panathenaic Stadium in Athens into a basketball court to host a game featuring top European basketball clubs.
During the year, Gravity The Newtons organized a cybersecurity workshop and newsletter, hosted an influencer networking party, and worked with TikTok, it presented trends, case studies, and current developments, highlighting its TikTok services. It also initiated an AI Navigator for SMEs, a multi-stakeholder initiative aimed at empowering Greek SMEs by guiding them through the complex AI landscape and helping businesses identify and adopt the right AI solutions for growth and innovation.
