Founded in London in 1987, Brunswick made its name in the financial communications business, and specifically as one of a handful of advisors capable of guiding clients through the  high-stakes realm of mergers and acquisitions. Its leadership in M&A continues to this day: the latest mergermarket ranking of deal advisors ranked Brunswick number one in the UK and the EMEA region more broadly in terms of the volume of deals it handled in 2024, and as number two globally in terms of the value of transactions it managed.

But Sir Alan Parker’s firm did not get to be the largest public relations consultancy in the UK by being one dimensional, and over the years it has seen its expertise expand into adjacent areas such as capital markets communications around IPOs, bankruptcies and other “special situation”; its regulatory and public policy practices helps companies engage with legislators and regulators, with an added expertise in geopolitics that has become increasingly critical in the last few years; its risk and resilience offer works on crises and litigation, with strong credentials in cybersecurity; and its business and society offers works to articulate a clear corporate purpose, and has particular expertise in sustainability and climate change issues.

All of that high-level counsel is surrounded by experts in data and analytics, led by partner and global insight lead Katharine Peacock; digital experts (the firm’s Digital Investor Survey explores how institutional investors gather information and make investment decisions; and a creative team that produces multi-channel content, film and live events. Significant additions to the team in 2024 included Fabiola Williams as partner and group head of talent and HR, based in London, from McArthurGlen Group, and Julia Giannini, former group head of environment and climate action at Bupa, as partner in the sustainable business space.

Brunswick publishes its “Brunswick Review,” an analysis of broad business issues, and “Business Social Value Review,” which focuses on ESG and related topics and in late 2023 it published its inaugural Global State of Philanthropy survey.—PH
