Founded with a vision to do technology PR differently, SourceCode Communications had firmly established itself on the B2B and tech PR landscape in the US – where it was set up in 2017 by Greg Mondshein and Becky Honeyman – before deciding to branch out internationally. In September 2023, the agency launched in London, its first office outside the US, under the leadership of industry veteran Giles Peddy, who has held senior positions at Hotwire, Lewis and Missive.

In its first year in business, SourceCode UK made £570,000 in revenue and achieved profitability within four months of operation, closing the year with a 16% margin. The team has grown from a single member at the start of 2024 to five employees, with plans to double in 2025. The agency has secured high-profile clients such as IFS, Vultr, Sonatype, Avantra, and Start Campus, with seven retained clients by the end of 2024. Notably, its work with Vultr expanded from the UK to a global remit, covering multiple European markets, Latin America, and the US.

When a major CrowdStrike outage hit in July 2024, SourceCode UK secured 45 pieces of national media coverage for Sonatype, including The Guardian, City AM and The Sunday Times, while coordinating global placements in The Washington Post, Politico and WIRED. The agency also delivered high-profile media engagement for IFS’s CEO transition, securing Sky News and broadsheet coverage with just a week’s notice.

A major development in 2024 was the launch of SourceCode Demand Cloud, a marketing-as-a-service initiative created in partnership with boutique firm The Demand Cloud. This innovation has expanded SourceCode’s service offerings beyond PR, integrating demand generation and ABM strategies. The Demand Cloud initiative has already yielded success, including a strategic marketing review for Avantra and an ABM campaign for TouchTunes that opened doors with pub giant Greene King.

The agency’s Diversity Marketing Consortium has provided over $2 million in pro bono services to underrepresented founders. In the UK, SourceCode partners with Socially Mobile and the Taylor Bennett Foundation, offering mentorship and funding training programs for diverse talent. Sustainability efforts include signing the Clean Creatives Pledge, earning B Corp certification in July 2024, and actively supporting environmental initiatives.—MPS
