NEW YORK — FTI Consulting has been hired to manage communications for McClatchy’s high-profile Chapter 11 filing. The country’s second largest publisher of local newspapers filed for bankruptcy protection voluntarily and will keep its 30 newsrooms open while it pursues approval of restructuring.

CHICAGO — Dairy Farmers of America has hired gravity.labs to serve as lead agency for its Borden Cheese and Plugrá butter brands as well as future product launches. GL’s responsibilities are to develop and execute year-long campaigns for each of the brands. Let There Be Cheese is an integrated campaign for Borden including PR and social media, as well as digital ads and media planning and buying. Better Butter Matters is also an integrated campaign that includes influencer marketing, PR, social media and digital experience.

WASHINGTON —  Banner Public Affairs has been appointed to represent the GPS Innovation Alliance (GPSIA), a trade association aimed at promoting GPS innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship. Banner will oversee and execute public affairs for the GPSIA as the organization continues to raise awareness among both private and public sectors on the significance of GPS as it pertains to smart infrastructure, services and applications.
