WASHINGTON, DC—Former Democratic National Committee CEO and executive director of Emily's List Amy Dacey has joined MWWPR as executive vice president and managing director of public affairs and issues management. Dacey will lead the firm's public affairs practice and will serve as managing director of MWWPR's Washington, DC, office. She will also serve as a key advisor to clients of MWWPR's HerVoice practice, which builds executive profiles and reputation for women in leadership.

NEW YORK—Burson-Marsteller has added Dan Doherty and Susan Lagana to its US public affairs and crisis practice as managing directors. Doherty joins Burson-Marsteller from TheWadeGroup, where he was president. Lagana was most recently director, public affairs, Office of the Secretary for the US Department of Transportation. Before that, she was the director of strategic communications, Secretary of the US Navy, Department of Defense.

WASHINGTON, DC—Edelman has hired Sarah Swinehart, director of media affairs for Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, as a vice president on the media services and strategies team. Swinehart has been Speaker Ryan's media affairs director since November 2015, and managed the Speaker's broadcast strategy, external media events, and foreign dignitary communications. Before that, she served in the same capacity for Speaker of the House John Boehner.

MIAMI—Burson-Marsteller has hired Tom Eslinger as global chief creative officer. Before joining Burson-Marsteller, Eslinger  was consulting executive creative director for visual effects and virtual reality firm Framestore’s integrated advertising efforts. Before that, he spent 13 years in the Saatchi & Saatchi network, eight of them as worldwide digital creative director.
