NEW YORK — MerchantCantos, the Brunswick Group’s creative communications agency, has appointed Jane Reiss as managing partner of North America. She will be based in New York and report to MerchantCantos CEO Matt Shepherd-Smith.  Reiss joins MerchantCantos from Grey New York, where she was most recently chief brand experience officer. Before Grey, she was chief marketing officer at NYC & Company, the agency created by Mayor Michael Bloomberg to market and promote New York. 

SAN FRANCISCO — Kim Clark has joined Employera as partner and head of the employee engagement firm’s internal communications practice. Clark (pictured) is an internal comms and diversity & inclusion specialist who has been a media studies lecturer at San Jose State University for 22 years. She has held employee communications and D&I leadership roles at GitHub, GoDaddy and PayPal.

NEW YORK — Mower has strengthened its media department with two promotions and a new hire. They are: Ryan Garland, a 21-year Mower vet, who will lead the firm’s digital media team as senior director of digital media; Patrick Lewis, who joined Mower in 2011 and will now lead the agency’s media department across offices as senior director, media services; and Jim Campbell, who joins the firm from The Fort Group as media supervisor.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Julian Hernandez has joined Crosby Marketing Communications as a VP in the firm’s health practice. He will lead strategic development of branding and enrollment campaigns, stakeholder engagement programs and behavior change initiatives on behalf of leading for-profit and nonprofit health organizations. Hernandez joins after nearly four years at Maricich Health.

WASHINGTON —Kglobal has promoted Jenny Wang from account director to VP. In her new role, Wang will help lead the agency’s crisis communications and energy practice. Wang joined kglobal a year ago from Raffetto Herman Strategic Communications.
