MINNEAPOLIS—Amber Graves has joined Padilla Speer Beardsley as a director, primarily leading the firm’s work for client Rec Boat Holdings. Graves brings a wealth of experience gained while at the Minneapolis-based advertising agency Periscope, where she most recently managed multidiscipline campaigns for Cox Business, Cox Communications and Kemps. Her earlier experience includes positions at Martin/Williams as media analyst and at Daktronics as animation marketing assistant.

NEW YORK—Gina Ormand (pictured) has joined MWW as a vice president in its corporate affairs practice. Ormand joins MWW from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee where she served as campaign services director. Previously, she acted as director of major gifts for former Vice President Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection. In her new role at MWW, Ormand will help develop and lead influencer strategies for MWW clients and will report directly to president and CEO Michael Kempner.

TORONTO—Trish Ault has returned to Weber Shandwick Canada as executive vice president, general manager for the Ottawa office and the national practice leader for the firm’s social impact practice, which drives awareness and engagement on social issues. Ault returns to the Canadian operation after three years working abroad: she was headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya as communications director for the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, chaired by former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, and later relocated to Seattle, Washington, where she led the Weber Shandwick global communications team supporting a major foundation active in global development.

TALLAHASSEE—Sachs Media Group has added 11-year Florida television and radio newsman Trimmel Gomes, former news director of Florida Public Radio; and Peter Dowling, a former Marine counter-terrorism team leader who most recently has been a writer and editor within a key unit of the US Department of Homeland Security in Washington.
