WASHINGTON, DC—JPA Health Communications has added Michael O’Brien as executive vice president and head of its Washington, DC, office. Prior to joining JPA, O’Brien was global head of corporate communications for MedImmune, the global biologics R&D arm of AstraZeneca, where he served on both the MedImmune executive leadership team and the AstraZeneca global corporate affairs leadership team. Earlier, he was a senior vice president responsible for the healthcare business unit at PR firm Imre.

CHICAGO—Henson Consulting has named Kris Garvey as senior strategist and director of operations, a newly-created position for the agency that will support the CEO, guide operations for the agency and provide support for all practice leaders and staff. Most recently Garvey was at MSLGroup as the deputy managing director and consumer practice leader for the Chicago office. Earlier, she worked at Weber Shandwick and Edelman.

NEW YORK—Intermarket Communications has added Michael Kingsley as a senior account supervisor, overseeing communications initiatives for financial services clients including asset managers, investment banks and exchanges. He most recently served as vice president and head of media relations for Convergex, a global brokerage and trading services firm. In addition, Eleis Brennan has taken on the role of senior account executive and Benjamin Sheng joins as an assistant account executive.

WASHINGTON, DC—Susan Davis International has named Daniel Gregory as vice president. He joined SDI in 2010 to serve as the primary account lead for the firm’s military and veteran affairs clients. In addition, Aliza Bran has been promoted to account executive and Allison Kluh has been promoted to manager, events and special projects. New hires include Mary Mellor, formerly with the Corporate Executive Board, as special assistant, and Megan Bogus as associate account executive.
