NEW YORK  — FTI Consulting has named Carolyn Hudson a managing director of its strategic communications segment. Hudson (pictured) will also serve as Americas head for the firm’s employee engagement & change management practice. She joins from Weber Shandwick, where she was an executive VP in that agency’s change management practice.

NEW YORK  — Clarity has made several personnel moves on the heels of its acquisition of DRS media this summer. Jay Kolbe, who led the advertising/ marketing technology practice at Sparkpr, has been named executive VP, emerging technologies. Michael Paffmann joins as VP, enterprise, bringing experience from 5W and Highwire. Additionally, longtime Clarity account director Sherry Smith has been promoted to VP in charge of media, mobile and marketing.

MILWAUKEE — GMR Marketing has hired Mat Johnson, former senior director of global brand events at Nike, as an experiential strategist. Johnson will work with GMR teams and clients to develop strategic marketing plans, proposals and strategies for growth. Johnson’s career includes responsibility for Nike’s consumer engagements during seven Olympics and five FIFA World Cups.

WASHINGTON — Stratacomm has promoted five team members in its Washington and Detroit offices. Kristin Gregory and Brooke Ziomek are named account directors; Nicole Golvala becomes senior account executive; and Marcella Dudek and Amber Garnett advance to the account executive position.
