WASHINGTON — Qorvis Communications has hired Kara Hauck as a VP of public affairs. Hauck most recently served as communications director for the House Republican Conference and its chair, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA). In that role, she led a team of communications and creative professionals responsible for informing and educating the public about policies advancing in the US House, including tax reform and healthcare.
RENO, NV — The Abbi Agency has hired Brian Baluta as VP of client strategy. Formerly the communication director at the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development, Baluta will bolster both the multi-media agency’s research and strategy-based ethos, as well as its suite of economic development services to help forward-thinking clients succeed.
NEW YORK — Skanska USA has promoted two members of its team — Pamela Monastra and Michael Iacovella. Monastra will serve as senior VP and head of communications for Skanska USA’s building construction operation. Iacovella is now VP, head of communications for the firm’s civil construction division. Both most recently served as regional senior directors and communications heads.
NEW ORLEANS — Deveney has named Joe Snowden its chief strategy officer. Snowden is responsible for driving integrated marketing and communication strategies with a focus on measurable outcomes. He previously ran Southeast integrated marketing agencies and currently serves on the Board of Advisors at Florida State University’s College of Communications.
