WASHINGTON, DC—Pat Brogan has been named a manager at The Harbour Group. He makes the move after spending 10 years behind the microphone at WAMU 88.5, American University Radio, where he handled breaking news, writing news and promos for broadcast, anchored all the local breaks. Earlier, Brogan was managing editor of news at 630 WMAL Radio, also in DC. 

VANCOUVER—National Public Relations has appointed Paul Welsh as managing partner of its Vancouver office. Also joining the Vancouver leadership team is Glen Edwards as senior vice-president, client strategy. Welsh was previously with Vancouver-based Karyo Communications, which was acquired by Edelman in 2007. He later served as chief commercial officer for Edelman Canada. Edwards has experience in financial communications in the natural resources sector.

WASHINGTON, DC—Bully Pulpit Interactive hired re-hired two employees: Eric Reif has joined as a media director, overseeing advertising strategy and planning for BPI clients, and Jane Hughes has joined as a director, and will run a client strategy team and craft marketing campaigns for some of the firm's top political, corporate and advocacy clients. Reif and Hughes are returning to BPI after time spent at the Democratic National Committee and Maggie Hassan's 2016 U.S. Senate campaign, respectively. 

HOUSTON—Pierpont Communications has promoted Elysa Nelson to the role of vice president. Based in Houston, Nelson will continue to oversee existing client engagements while helping to drive growth statewide. During her time at Pierpont Communications, Nelson has supported national and global client engagements, including NRG, Reliant, LyondellBasell, Opportune and Petrobras. Prior to joining Pierpont, she was manager of corporate services communications and public relations at Fidelity Investments.

NEW YORK—Paragon Public Relations has appointed Guy Taylor as global director of public relations, responsible for client relationship management, PR strategy and execution, and new business development. Taylor previously worked at ICAP (now Nex Group), a leading interdealer broker, where for over nine years he was responsible for the Americas communications and public relations duties. Before ICAP, he worked at The New York Board of Trade, where he was director of public relations for seven years.

NASHVILLE, TN—Jennifer Brantley has been named a partner at MP&F Public Relations. Brantley began her career at MP&F as a student intern, working her way to the position of senior vice president, a title she has held since 2011.

DETROIT—Lambert Edwards & Associates has expanded its web development team to Detroit with the addition of Dave Goodman, web designer and front-end developer. Goodman will execute high-end website designs that meet the objectives of LE&A’s diverse cliental. Prior to LE&A, Goodman worked as an independent freelancer, and partnered with Chrysler to design and develop a user dashboard for amplified internal communications. 

PITTSBURGH—Havas PR has added Jacob Gnieski as a fellow to support its communications efforts. In his new role, Gnieski will support public relations and media relations efforts for several healthcare clients. Prior to joining Havas, Gnieski held a marketing internship at WTAE-TV, where he helped to plan and execute advertising campaigns, marketing initiatives and community events. 

MILLBURN, NJ—GLA Communications has hired Karen Addis as senior vice president. Addis will help expand GLA’s visibility and client base in the Washington, DC, area and provide senior-level strategic counsel to consumer technology brands. She was previously senior vice president at Van Eperen and before that was a VP in the health sciences practice at Environics Communications.

BOSTON—Public relations and events management firm The Castle Group has hired Carole McFall as vice president of public relations, supporting clients across industries, including education and healthcare. She is also a senior leader for Castle’s strategic communications and crisis practices. Prior to joining Castle, McFall was associate vice president of communications at Emerson College and before that director of media relations at the Museum of Science, Boston.
