WASHINGTON — APCO Worldwide welcomes Ami Copeland, a strategist and public affairs executive with 20 years of experience, as the new head of public affairs in Washington. Prior to joining APCO, Copeland was an executive VP at Resolute Public Affairs, where he led high-stakes public affairs and risk management engagements with corporations, non-profits, and advocacy campaigns for public and private sector clients. Copeland served as the deputy national finance director for Barack Obama’s first presidential campaign and held leadership positions in the campaigns of Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, Sen. Bill Nelson, Sen. Tom Harkin and within the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
WASHINGTON — José Miguel Vivanco has joined Dentons Global Advisors as a partner. He brings to DGA more than three decades of experience in investigations, litigation strategy and complex dispute resolution, most recently serving as the Americas director of Human Rights Watch and a legal advisor at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. Vivanco (pictured) is based in Washington and will work worldwide with Dentons Global Advisors’ strategic consultants to help clients prepare for and navigate crises, disputes and other complex issues when they arise.
NEW YORK — Craig Singwill is joining Brunswick Group as a New York-based partner. Singwill will focus on strengthening the firm’s global investor relations capabilities and will advise clients on financial situations, including M&A, IPOs and shareholder activism. He joins Brunswick from Goldman Sachs, where he held several senior positions including managing director of investor relations in the executive office and global CFO of the consumer & wealth management division.
NEW YORK — Social impact consultancy Matter Unlimited has hired Jon Amar to lead its public relations and strategic communications department. As director of PR and communications, Amar will spearhead all paid, earned, owned and social media strategies for Matter’s roster of clients and partners that are accelerating their ESG actions. Current clients of the department already include the global business nonprofit Council for Inclusive Capitalism and oral health innovation organization CareQuest Innovation Partners.
