NEW YORK — Insurance giant AIG has hired Dana Ripley as the company’s first global head of media relations & external communications.

In the newly created VP role, Ripley will be focused on articulating and communicating AIG’s strategy and value proposition to external stakeholders. He reports to executive VP Lucy Fato, who is AIG’s general counsel & global head of communications and government affairs.
 
Ripley joins AIG from 12A Consulting, the communications firm he founded in 2019. Before that, he spent five years as US Bank’s chief communications officer. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at Voya Financial and ING.

“Dana is a seasoned professional with significant industry experience and communications expertise," Fato said. “He will play a critical role in all aspects of our strategic communications efforts as we continue on our path to becoming a top performing company and leading insurance franchise."
