LONDON — APCO Worldwide has acquired boutique business strategy consultancy TWC Associates for an undisclosed sum to strengthen its offer to high-tech businesses and clients entering complex international markets.

TWC Associates is led by chairman Lord Stuart Polak (pictured) – a Conservative peer who was director of Conservative Friends of Israel for 26 years – and partner Greg Weingarten, who has been a Parliamentary affairs adviser at the Association of British Insurers and spent two years in Brussels as political counsellor to the UK Conservative Party in the European Parliament.

After the acquisition, Polak will join APCO’s International Advisory Council as a senior counsellor and Weingarten will join as a senior director.

In his new role, Polak will be supporting business development across a range of sectors, as well as guidance for APCO’s leadership and clients on geopolitics and opportunities in Israel and in emerging economies. He will also provide advice on strengthening corporate relations to clients operating advanced technology, AI, telecommunications and aerospace.

Brad Staples, CEO of APCO, said the duo brought “many years of strategic advisory expertise, extensive international market understanding and nuanced geopolitical insight.”

He added: “As Britain enters a new era, and with Covid-19 reshaping our relationship with technology, I believe that Stuart and Greg will provide tremendous value to our growth in London and beyond.”

Roi Feder, APCO’s interim MD in London, added: “The acquisition of TWC is an important development for APCO in London which further solidifies our position as a global business hub for the company and our clients. Stuart and Greg have been guiding some of the most exciting technology companies in the world. I am excited to see them joining our talented and diverse team in London.”

APCO’s previous London MD, Steve Earl, left in April and now leads BoldT in London.
