DUBAI — APCO Worldwide has appointed Mohammad Kamal to the new position of regional creative practice lead, to build out its creative capabilities.

Kamal joins from Memac Ogilvy Advize in Jordan, where he was managing partner and executive creative director. He founded creative boutique Advize in 2004, and it merged with Memac Ogilvy in 2011.

In his new MD role, Kamal will oversee the development of the agency’s multimedia content capabilities for clients, to compliment APCO’s AI and digital teams in the region.

He will report to Mamoon Sbeih, president of APCO’s MENA region, who said he was “proud to welcome one of the region’s creative driving forces to lead our creative practice.”

Sbeih added: “Creative storytelling is part of the fabric of communications practice. Mo’s relentless pursuit of his art form will provide an invaluable boost to the ways our clients can engage the public, their stakeholders and wider audiences, as we fortify our creative capabilities with a truly 360 offering.”

Kamal has led on creative work for brands such as G+, Jordan Commercial Bank, Total and others, winning Jordan’s first Dubai Lynx Grand Prix and Cannes Lion in 2017.
