HONG KONG — Ashbury Communications has added another director as the financial consultancy continues to grow after one year of business.

Joanne Chung (pictured, left) joins Ashbury after spending four years with HSBC, where she was senior communications manager for the region. Prior to HSBC, she worked at Standard Chartered and H+K Strategies.

Chung arrives as Ashbury marks its first anniversary since it was launched by former HSBC Greater China communications head Adam Harper. The firm also features director Noel Cheung (pictured, centre), who was previously North Asia head of communications at ANZ Bank, and Jeremy Hughes, who leads the firm’s editorial services after serving as head of brand and communications for Southeast Asia at BNP Paribas in Singapore.

“We’re off to a strong start in 2021 and will continue to make selective hires as the business grows,” said Harper. "Like the rest of our team, Joanne brings extensive in-house financial experience and a keen understanding of the most important reputational opportunities for our financial services clients, especially in sustainability and fintech. I am delighted to be working with her for a second time."

Ashbury's client base focuses on the financial sector, with specific expertise in ESG and fintech, along with a vision to integrate content creation and strategy with corporate communications.
