MUMBAI — MullenLowe Group India has named S. “Subbu” Subramanyeswar its new CEO. Subramanyeswar will oversee all functions of the group. He will also continue to lead the group’s strategy function in his existing role as APAC chief strategy officer. Subramanyeswar joined the company in 2011.

TOKYO — Gusto Collective has expanded to Japan with the opening of an office in Tokyo. Shabaz Hussain (pictured, right) will be joining as managing partner to spearhead the launch and growth of Gusto Japan. He brings over 12 years of brand leadership experience across Asia-Pacific with a specialty in branded content, entertainment and digital media, working with agencies such as McCann Worldgroup, Octagon and BBDO. Gwen Nguyen (pictured, left) will also be joining as managing partner, bringing more than a decade of business experience working in the Japanese tech industry with specific expertise in digital transformation for some of the largest corporations in the world.

SINGAPORE — Sunitha Chalam has been appointed head of Brunswick Group’s Singapore office, succeeding Will Carnwath, who will co-lead the firm’s healthcare and life sciences team. Chalam joined Brunswick in 2015 and has worked in both the Singapore and Hong Kong offices. She advises clients on a range of critical issues in areas including geopolitical, public affairs, crisis, litigation and cybersecurity, in Asia-Pacific and globally.

SINGAPORE — A new cyber crisis communications practice has been established to empower organisations to communicate well during a cyber incident. Cyber Incident Communications is a practice run jointly by Mediacraft Communications, a media training, issues and crisis management consultancy in Australia, together with Pinpoint PR, a technology public relations agency based in Singapore for Southeast Asia. Both parties have signed a Memorandum of Agreement to co-develop materials and deliver workshops. The crisis communications consultancy is led by Mediacraft's Brian Shrowder, while the stakeholder communications consultancy is led by Illka Gobius, founder of Pinpoint PR.
