SEOUL—Weber Shandwick has appointed Tyler Kim (pictured) as head of corporate and crisis communications, Asia Pacific. He takes on this responsibility in addition to his current role as managing director of Weber Shandwick Korea. Kim has played an integral role in formulating communications strategies for US-based bio-chemical companies, and counseling financial companies facing sensitive communications issues in areas such as labour conflicts, plant closures, restructuring, proxy contests, shareholder activism and M&A.

SINGAPORE—The Ate Group has secured two new restaurant clients in the first two months of 2013: new British gastropub The Ascot, and one of Singapore's most popular restaurants, artichoke, together with its sister bakery Overdoughs. Both clients were won without a pitch and Ate is providing both PR and social media activity.

SYDNEY—Marketing communications firm STW Group is partnering with the Australian operations of customer insight firm, Beyond Analysis. The partnership sees STW take a minority position in the Australian arm of the UK-based business, which boasts a client roster including Visa and Mi9, and which combines lifestyle, demographic and affluence measures to create holistic customer patterns and segments.
