MELBOURNE — Nissan has appointed Matthew Hobbs as vice president, external and government affairs in Asia and Oceania. He will lead the external and government affairs team in proactive engagement with key regulators to support Nissan’s vision of ‘zero emissions and zero fatalities’ across the region and will report to Yutaka Sanada, MC chairman and head of Nissan in Asia and Oceania. Matthew succeeds Lavanya Wadgaonkar, who was previously announced as general manager & head, global corporate communications for Nissan.

HONG KONG — Huma Qureshi has been promoted to chief communications officer for Grey Group, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa (AMEA). Qureshi joined Grey in 2016 as regional director for PR and corp Comms, APAC. In her new role, she will help to further strengthen Grey's presence and continue to build the agency's global reputation.

SINGAPORE — Ogilvy has been retained as communications agency of record for AIA Singapore, following a competitive pitch process. The appointment builds on the agency's decade-long partnership with AIA Singapore, first established in 2010, and will see Ogilvy continue to drive holistic communications efforts for AIA Singapore for an additional three years.

KUALA LUMPUR — Moët Hennessy Diageo (MHD) Malaysia has partnered with seven agencies for its portfolio of brands in 2020. M&C Saatchi remains the company’s lead creative agency on record, a position it has held since 2015. Meanwhile, Group M’s L’Atelier will continue to provide media thought leadership, planning and execution. GO Communications will take the lead in PR/communications related matters while Colony will take on brand activation. Other appointments include Amoeba, tasked with designing and conceptualising of visual merchandise; Sambal Lab, who will bring to the table their brand of experiential activation and “dark marketing”; and social creative agency Black Sheep.
