SYDNEY—Lewis PR has been hired by Veeam Software, which develops solutions to help companies with backup, replication and management of virtualised IT environments, to manage public relations campaigns in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. “We were impressed by Lewis’ credentials in the IT space and its experience running campaigns across the Asia Pacific region,” says Christine Partridge, marketing manager APAC at Veeam.

HONG KONG—Hill+Knowlton Strategies Hong Kong has appointed Allan Tan (pictured) as director of technology in a move to strengthen its senior team. Tan will report directly to John Morgan, chief operating officer, H+K Strategies Asia, and managing director, H+K Strategies Hong Kong. Most recently, Tan was director of client services at EBA Communications overseeing regional and local clients in the software, hardware, and services sectors. Prior to that, he was content director at Questex Asia.

HONG KONG—Fleishman-Hillard has been appointed by Metrojet, sister company of The Peninsula Hotels, to manage its corporate communications and media relations activities in Asia Pacific. Fleishman-Hillard will work with Metrojet to further raise awareness of its brand and strengthen its overall reputation for business jet chartering, management and MRO services.

BEIJING—Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide has partnered with the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS to launch two reports in China in November, ahead of World AIDS Day on December 1. To broaden the awareness and influence of the reports and related events, UNAIDS tasked Ogilvy PR with managing the launch events in Shanghai and Beijing, including media relations activities.

BEIJING—The Hoffman Agency has appointed Dongwei Wu as deputy general manager in Beijing. Reporting to Dong Chen, general manager of China, Wu will oversee daily operation of the Beijing office. Prior to joining The Hoffman Agency, Wu was an account director and digital lead of some key accounts at Hill & Knowlton, where he managed all aspects of social media engagement in China for his clients. Previously he was an account director and social media practice lead at Text 100 China.

KUALA LUMPUR—Go Communications has been appointed by IZI Media to promote its new MaxMan.TV IPTV channel. GO Communications was selected following a multi-agency pitch to represent the newest IPTV channel in Malaysia, the only one in the country offering programming targeted exclusively at a male demographic.
