SINGAPORE — Edelman has named leadership for its healthcare operations across Asia-Pacific, with agency veteran Will Collie taking charge as regional vice-chair. In addition, the firm has hired Brian Wang and Jennie Jackson as health heads in China and Hong Kong, respectively. Wang previously spent more than 11 years with GSK, while Jackson arrives from Sandpiper.
JAKARTA — Edelman has appointed Melvin Goo as chief operating officer for its operations in Indonesia. The appointment will see Goo (pictured) drive the next chapter of the firm’s growth in Indonesia and realize Edelman’s ambitions of delivering industry-leading integrated marketing communications solutions for local, regional, and global clients operating in the market. In his previous role, Goo was the marketing director at tech startup Cashbac, driving both its revenue and reputation mandates. He has more than 16 years’ experience, having worked at PR and media agencies in Jakarta, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing. Goo will report to Edelman’s Southeast Asia CEO Adrian Warr.
SYDNEY — Independent agency Poem has appointed a new leadership team, with Katie Raleigh and Rhania Farah being promoted into newly created management roles alongside co-founders Rob Lowe and Matt Holmes. Raleigh has been promoted to the newly created position of managing partner. Raleigh joined the agency in 2018 from Samsung with a focus on helping launch, lead and grow Poem’s production and creative division, Poem Studio. Farah was promoted to business director at the end of 2021. The appointments mark the first major leadership restructure since the agency was founded seven years ago.
SINGAPORE — Weber Shandwick has bolstered its C-suite consultancy offering with the appointment of Nachum Kaplan, who joins the firm as senior VP, client experience (financial communications), Asia-Pacific. Based in Singapore, Kaplan brings more than 25 years of international experience in financial and capital markets and is poised to provide expert counsel to the firm’s clients on complex business issues, including mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, restructurings, C-suite transitions, litigation, regulatory matters, and investor relations. Kaplan spent part of his career at Reuters News and at the International Financing Review at Thomson Reuters in Singapore as editor in charge for the Asian Financial Markets and Asia-Pacific bureau chief.
