LONDON—Avis Budget Group is consolidating EMEA PR duties across its various brands with Weber Shandwick, following a competitive review revealed last year by the Holmes Report.

The new single-agency model comes as Avis Budget unifies communications, after previously splitting duties on a geographic basis. Weber Shandwick takes over from the company's previous PR agencies, which included Atomic/Grayling across some European markets and Red Consultancy in the UK.

The review, conducted by Oystercatchers, saw 12 agencies whittled down to four for the final pitch. The brief was previously estimated at around £500k.

Weber Shandwick will work with Avis Budget's existing marketing agencies, including VCCP and The Social Partners, to deliver integrated PR and marketing campaigns for brands that include Avis, Budget and Maggiore.

"As our focus on driving scale and creative impact increases, we’re so excited to be working with a multi-award winning agency partner with plans to bring our iconic brands’ promises to life in fresh and engaging ways," said Darren Peacock, director of brand marketing at Avis Budget Group EMEA.

The business will be led by Weber Shandwick’s EMEA consumer marketing chair Louise Watson.
