SAN JOSE, CA — On the brink of its 30th anniversary, online marketplace giant eBay has named Axicom its North America corporate communications agency of record.

Axicom, Burson’s tech specialty shop, won the business following a competitive review led by Gigi Ganatra Duff, eBay’s new CCO. The incumbent agency was Hotwire.

Axicom’s remit includes corporate, product, and technology communications, as well as seller engagement, advertiser communications, and support for the eBay Foundation.

The agency will collaborate closely with Duff’s team to enhance awareness of eBay’s commitment to innovation, marketplace evolution, and the vibrant community of buyers and sellers it serves, Axicom said in announcing the win.

The eBay account will be managed from the agency's San Francisco office.. EBay will mark its 30th year in business in 2025.

“Axicom is built to help tech brands and brands with a tech story communicate with impact. We were inspired by the opportunity to shine a light on how innovation is powering eBay’s mission to create economic opportunity for all,” said Lisa Sullivan, president of Axicom Americas. “We’re excited to help eBay tell the stories behind its ground-breaking technology that connects the world to a powerful marketplace of enthusiasts.”

The win comes as Axicom continues to gain traction in the US market after a string of high-profile wins. In 2023, the agency won AMD’s global PR business, estimated to be worth more than $7 million.
