HONG KONG — BASF has promoted Bhavna Satyanarayan to head of communications for Asia Pacific.

In her new role, Satyanarayan will lead BASF’s 28-person Kuala Lumpur comms team, which handles communications for the German chemical company’s services and projects throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Responsibilities include overseeing all facets of communications including media and stakeholder relations, internal, digital, leadership, change, branding and events.

Satyanarayan replaces Sabrina Van Der Putten, who stepped down from her role leading Asia Pacific corporate communications to return to Germany.

Satyanarayan has spent the last two years as head of BASF’s Asia Pacific care chemicals communications, and led marketing, brand and communications for Volvo Buses in Bangalore before that.

Satyanarayan also worked for BASF in India earlier in her career, leading stakeholder relations and internal communications.
