CHICAGO — BCW has appointed Matt Coldagelli as executive vice president and leader of the corporate affairs practice in its Chicago office, to provide strategic counsel, build the business, and manage the team across corporate reputation, ESG, crisis and issues management, and media relations.

Coldagelli joins BCW in the newly-created role from Golin where, as executive director of corporate communications, he led efforts in corporate reputation, narrative development, B2B communications, media relations, executive visibility and thought leadership. During his tenure, he worked with clients across industries including agribusiness, QSR, tech, manufacturing, professional services and consumer goods.

Before joining Golin in 2021, Coldagelli spent more than 14 years with Edelman, across two terms, working with clients in the food and beverage, wine and spirits, agriculture, agribusiness, higher education, energy and manufacturing industries. He also served as US corporate and issues management lead for the food and beverage sector.

Between his two stints at Edelman, which he first joined in 2008, Coldagelli served as vice president in the corporate practice of MSL from 2015 to 2016. He began his career as morning anchor and sports reporter at WICS/WICD TV in Springfield and Champaign, Illinois.

Coldagelli reports to Chicago market leader Maxine Winer, who joined BCW from DiGennano Communications in January. She said: “Matt has an enviable breadth and depth of experience helping corporate clients across a variety of industries navigate their communications and reputational challenges. He knows how to create narratives that move stakeholders to engagement and action, while also protecting the integrity of the brand."

On his new role, Coldagelli added: “I’m excited to join Maxine in expanding on BCW’s fantastic foundation in Chicago and building upon our legacy corporate offering to serve clients throughout the Midwest.”
