NEW YORK — BCW has promoted Thomas Bunn to North America chief strategy officer.

In the newly created role, Bunn is overseeing a research, strategy, and communications team whose insights provide the foundations for campaigns. Bunn, one of Provoke Media’s Innovator 25, has been leading BCW’s integrated services since joining the agency from Zeno in 2018.

His responsibilities also include strengthening and scaling BCW’s planning framework, as well as recruiting and developing strategy talent. With experience in DE&I, Bunn will also address bias in the communications industry’s research and strategic planning processes.

“At BCW, we exist to move people with power and precision to move our clients forward,” said interim North America president Brooke Hovey, to whom Bunn reports. “In order to move people, we need to understand them deeply. Thomas is incredibly gifted in this area, and we’ve charged him with building out our current North America team and capabilities — through better use of data and technology — to do this at scale for the region.”

Bunn’s promotion is the latest in a series of recent staffing changes at BCW, which last week announced the restructuring of its North American leadership following the departure of North American president Chris Foster, who has been named CEO of Omnicom Public Relations Group. Brooke Hovey, BCW’s global chief growth officer, has taken over as interim president of BCW North America. In addition, South/West president Teresa Henderson is elevated to chief operating officer of North America.
