TORONTO — Edelman has promoted Bianca Freedman to CEO of the agency’s Canadian operation.

Freedman, who was previously the region’s chief operating officer, will oversee Edelman’s five Canadian offices.  She has been serving as interim CEO since September when Lisa Kimmel, then-Edelman’s Canada chair & CEO and LatAm chair, departed the firm after a two-decade career with the agency.

Freedman has been with Edelman Canada for more than eight years. Since being named COO in 2020, she has overseen internal initiatives that have changed and improved the regional operations. Her other roles at Edelman have included serving as interim general manager of the Calgary office and co-leading Toronto’s reputation practice.

“Bianca has brought a wealth of experience and excellent strategic and leadership skills to Edelman Canada, and has demonstrated her abilities over the past several months,” said global president and COO Matthew Harrington, to whom Freedman reports. “I am confident that Bianca is ideally positioned to lead the Canadian business with excellence, ensuring our clients and employees receive the best that Edelman has to offer.”
