RIDGEFIELD, CT — Rob Anderson has joined Boehringer Ingelheim to lead US corporate affairs.

As VP of the pharmaceutical giant’s US corporate affairs and president of the Boehringer Ingelheim Cares Foundation, Anderson leads a team focused on government affairs and public policy, corporate communications, ESG and corporate responsibility, brand and reputation, and communications and engagement programs to support the company’s three divisions —  human pharma, animal health and bio manufacturing. The team also manages internal communications initiatives to engage US employees.

He also oversees the Boehringer Ingelheim Cares Foundation, which is dedicated to  improving health through patient assistance and product development programs and community health grants.

Anderson replaces Karen Iannella, who departed the German company in March after 25 years.

Anderson most recently led strategic marketing and communications programs for USP, a global NGO that develops quality standards and solutions for manufacturers, governments and health professionals to increase access to safe, quality medicines and supplements and foods.

Prior to his time at USP, Anderson held communications leadership roles at Rabin Martin, Fenton, and Golin.
