LONDON — BT has bolstered its corporate affairs leadership team with the appointment of former Brands2Life technology managing director Armand David as corporate affairs director for BT Digital, a new technology unit founded in April 2021 tasked with leading BT’s digital innovation agenda and driving its digital transformation.

In his previous role, David jointly led Brands2Life’s technology practice, working with AI, fintech, healthcare, cleantech and telecoms clients including Google, Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom and Dell. He had been with the agency for nearly 18 years, including latterly as head of client experience.

David joins the telecoms giant on 18 January as part of the group corporate affairs and BT Digital leadership teams, reporting into Ed Petter, group corporate affairs director, and Harmeen Mehta, BT’s chief digital and innovation officer.

Petter said: “The digital division is critical to the future of BT, and I’m delighted to welcome such an experienced communicator to the team. As an organisation we are undergoing one of the biggest strategic shifts in the way we engage with our customers and other communities, and Armand’s arrival further bolsters both the digital leadership team, and my own.”

David added: “BT is at a key juncture in delivering its broader transformation strategy and I’m excited by the opportunity to work with the team to help make it a reality. It’s clear from my early interactions with the company that I’m joining a dedicated community of experts, all committed to making the vision of BT as a key technology enabler for the century ahead a reality, much as it was for the last.”

Brands2Life co-founder Giles Fraser told PRovoke Media: “We wish Armand the very best in his new role. He was with us for over seventeen years and played a major part in the growth of Brands2Life. His departure has enabled us to re-organise our tech practice under the leadership of Andre Labadie, make some well-deserved promotions and bring in some new talent.”

Anna Epps, a longstanding member of the BT corporate affairs team, has led corporate affairs for BT Digital since its inception and now takes on a new role as corporate internal communications director. She will combine that role with being corporate affairs director for BT’s Networks business.

Petter said: “Anna has a phenomenal understanding of our business and holds fantastic relationships throughout BT. She’s ideally suited to take on this new role and help bring our colleagues along the journey we’re taking as a business in the months and years ahead. In addition, Networks has some huge and critical programmes to deliver over the next few years – 5G rollout, All-IP, core network upgrades amongst others – and I know with Anna in role, it will be brilliantly supported.”
