New analysis from Meltwater Buzz reveals the depth of of online sentiment around the issue, which culminated in the UK government's decision to strip former RBS CEO Fred Goodwin of his knighthood. That move came after current RBS CEO Stephen Hester opted to waive a lucrative bonus in the face of widespread public criticism.
Online conversations show predominately negative sentiment in regard to the controversy. It should be noted, though, that opinion is more evenly split when it comes to the decision to remove Goodwin's knighthood.
