WASHINGTON, D.C., May 16—Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide has been chosen by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to lead a targeted online advertising campaign delivering cancer screening and prevention messages to the 80 million Americans who use Yahoo!
Ogilvy developed a series of online ads that raise awareness of colorectal cancer, the number-two cancer killer in America.  The ads will run on Yahoo! and are targeted toward Americans aged 45 and older as well as health professionals.
The firm also developed a new colorectal cancer awareness campaign website for CDC. Users who click on the Yahoo! ads are directed to the campaign site, where they can find quick facts about colorectal cancer, e-mail a friend a “get-screened” reminder or download multimedia public service announcements. The site also features information for health professionals including prevention and early detection information.
The campaign is an extension of Ogilvy PR’s long-standing work for CDC’s Screen for Life National Colorectal Cancer Action Campaign.
