LONDON — Celebrity Cruises has appointed Lisa Rose as its new marketing director for EMEA, with responsibility for brand, PR and marketing across the region.

Rose joins the luxury travel operator from Expedia Group, where she was most recently senior director for brand strategy at Expedia and also senior director of marketing and proposition for the wider group. She was previously senior director of marketing at Expedia-owned Hotels.com. Before joining Expedia Group in 2012, she spent eight years in marketing roles at Sky and Diageo.

In her new role, Rose will lead all aspects of marketing across EMEA for the cruise line – one of six brands operated by global cruise company Royal Caribbean Group – including driving the line’s luxury proposition and reaching new audiences across the region.

Previously, the brand marketing and PR director for Celebrity Cruises EMEA was Jo Vaughton, who left last month to join payments fintech Mollie as head of brand marketing. Rose's role has a wider remit across all marketing channels including social, digital and CRM.

Rose will report into Jo Rzymowska, VP and managing director for Celebrity Cruises in EMEA, who said: “The past year has been historic for Celebrity as we relaunched our fleet and more recently, marked the introduction of [cruise ship] Celebrity Beyond in April. Lisa is joining at an incredibly exciting time and we are equally excited to welcome her to the team. Her long-term vision, strategic thinking and strong leadership align with Celebrity Cruises and our commitment to growth and innovation in the travel industry.”

Rose added: “As a marketer, working with a brand that is celebrated for delivering outstanding luxury experiences is an exciting premise. As consumer demand returns, along with significant brand investment into new ships to attract new types of consumers to cruising, the potential for growth is hugely exciting.”

Last year, Celebrity Cruises appointed Good Relations as its first global PR agency.
