LONDON — Specialist B2B technology agency Chameleon has picked up a number of new retainer clients after competitive pitches, including the EMEA brief for enterprise cloud software firm Cloudera.

The US tech giant provides enterprise data clouds for enterprises and organisations in the financial services, telco, public sector, healthcare and manufacturing sectors, including Lufthansa, Deutsche Telekom, Navistar and Sikorsky. It was founded in 2008 by engineers from Google, Facebook, Oracle and Yahoo! and has revenues of around $800 million.

As Cloudera’s UK and EMEA PR hub, Chameleon will coordinate the firm’s independent agencies in Europe to provide integrated communications support. The focus will be on highlighting Cloudera’s technology innovation and driving growth for the company as it builds the business across the region.

Cloudera director of communications Madge Miller said: “Cloudera has gone through a period of positive change over the last 18 months, and we plan to continue to expand our growth into EMEA over the next year.

“We selected Chameleon as our UK and EMEA hub agency as they have proven experience of working with fast-growing, and complex, cloud companies. Our teams had great chemistry, and it was Chameleon’s creative thinking, and human-first approach that won us over. The team showcased how, through challenging the status quo, that they could cut through the noise in a very competitive industry.”

The agency has also been named as the retained UK PR agency for multi-billion dollar branded payments, prepaid and gift card and fintech Blackhawk Network after a competitive pitch, including press office and campaign activity to help grow its business in across a range of sectors.

Chameleon’s two other recent B2B tech wins are UK scale-up Metomic, which helps SMEs to meet evolving privacy regulation standards around the world, and Temporall, founded by former Google global director Thomas Davies.

Temporall – which has developed the Workbench "organisational intelligence" platform – recently announced a £1m funding round from UK-based VC Luminous Ventures and has briefed Chameleon to develop messaging, content, marketing and PR.

The new wins are in addition to other recent client additions including Silicon Valley Bank and a well-known business networking platform.

Chameleon director and head of business operations Alizia Walker told PRovoke Media: "We're proud to be starting excellent relationships with four such exciting brands. Winning these clients during a period of uncertainty has proven the strength of our team in being able to identify what’s really important to a brand. And we’ve enjoyed showing how we can help them to rapidly deliver against meaningful business objectives."
