LONDON — Chris Talago has moved from software and technology company Oracle to join Amazon Web Services as its PR and communications director for EMEA.

Talago had headed up Oracle’s PR and communications across JAPAC and EMEA for the past four years, including setting the direction for modernising the function and the way it supported wider brand and commercial campaigns, and introducing global measurement capability.

It’s the latest in-house move for Talago, who has worked across agency and client-side throughout his career.

Talago joined Oracle in 2016 from WE Communications, where he was EVP and general manager for EMEA for nearly eight years, turned around an under-performing region for the global firm, delivering double-digit growth for his last five years; WE was named PRovoke Media's Technology Agency of the Year in 2012.

At WE, he was instrumental in winning accounts such as Microsoft WECA, Honeywell Aerospace, Xerox UK, AVG, Kingston and Avanade Formula 1, as well as opening the firm’s Johannesburg office, and introducing digital, measurement, integrated marketing and video offerings.

Talago also spent five years as general manager of Text 100, was a board director at Hill + Knowlton, and was EMEA head of communications at semiconductor firm AMD.
