LONDON – Cirkle has been appointed by fruit snack company Urban Fresh Foods to support its Bear and Urban Fruit brands on an integrated communications brief.

The company, which was founded ten years ago and was acquired by Belgium’s Lotus Bakeries in a £70m deal in 2015, has asked the agency to raise the profile of its brands and drive customer engagement in the competitive healthy snack sector, targeting families and kids.

Cirkle’s remit includes trade and consumer communication, crisis and issues, digital and experiential, with campaigns to “drive brand equity, educate on health and nutritional benefits, and increase distribution within key trade channels.”

The account, which will be led by Cirkle’s head of corporate reputation Annemarie Penderis, joins other leading food and drink brands in the agency’s portfolio, including Bird’s Eye, Britvic, Goodfellas, Aunt Bessie’s, Premier Foods (Mr Kipling, Oxo, Bisto), Ferrero (Nutella, Tic Tac), PepsiCo (Quaker, Walkers, Tropicana), Morrisons and The Happy Egg Co.

Urban Fresh Foods marketing director Jo Agnew said: “Cirkle has a long and proven track record for driving sales and encouraging brand advocacy. We have ambitious plans for the BEAR and Urban Fruit portfolio, and know that Cirkle can seamlessly provide us with integrated support across the trade, consumer, digital and experiential channels.”
