LONDON — Cision has hired two former Kantar Media executives as its new EMEA leadership team: Peter Low becomes managing director of Cision Group, overseeing operations in the region, while Keir Fawcus is senior vice president of sales for EMEA.

Cision’s former president Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMIA) president Abe Smith left the earned media software and services company last month, after the firm acquired PR analytics platform TrendKite.

Low (pictured, left) was a founder and CEO of Precise Media Group, and led the company through a period of rapid growth resulting in its acquisition by Kantar in 2014. Low then became worked as chief strategy officer at Kantar Media, where he led the integration of the company’s monitoring and evaluation businesses in Europe. He was also CFO and MD of PR Newswire Europe.

Fawcus (pictured, right) was also a founder of Precise, as well as its MD. Following its acquisition, he led the Kantar Media Reputation Intelligence businesses in the US and UK. He previously managed the current affairs division of Citigate Dewe Rogerson.

Cision CEO Kevin Akeroyd said: “Peter and Keir bring an established track record of operational excellence and combined five decades of industry experience to their positions at Cision. Their in-market expertise in the EMEA region will be instrumental as we expand our global leadership in Earned Media Management – the unification of technology, data, measurement and analysis to modernize the comms function from an expense into a business driver for organizations around the world.”

Last month, Kantar Media appointed Mark Inskip as CEO of its UK and Ireland business and Gustavo Nuñez from Nielson as chief commercial officer for EMEA.
