LONDON — Clarity has made two senior hires, appointing former Hotwire chief development officer Andy West as a board advisor, and naming another ex-Hotwire leader, Victoria Morrison, as global head of marketing.

Morrison joins the technology agency in the newly-created leadership role after two-and-a-half years at Hotwire, where she oversaw the global marketing plan and the launch of the agency’s new brand positioning, as well as developing its use of martech. Before joining Hotwire, Morrison held a variety of roles at PR software and services provider Cision, including creating the Cision CommsCon event.

At the same time, Clarity has appointed West, who left Hotwire last year to set up his own advisory firm, West of Center. He is also working with agencies including Rally Point Public Relations and Made By Giants. West and Morrison will work together on Clarity’s business strategy and positioning, as well as focusing on lead generation.

Over the past year, Clarity has added 23 new team members globally, including Sam Benson, former head of digital at luxury training shoe brand Kick Game, as performance director and deputy MD of digital marketing services, after buying SEO and analytics specialist 3WhiteHats last May.

Global COO Alex MacLaverty, who joined Clarity from her role as Hotwire’s COO and president of EMEA and ANZ in 2019, said: “The timing couldn’t be better for bringing Vics, Andy, and our new senior hires on to the team. We love their experience working with larger brands and leading growth for global marcomms agencies, however we’ve given them a clear remit to help us build something totally new and different, rather than looking to just what’s been successful in the past.

“Clarity grew by 60% in 2021 and there lies a huge opportunity ahead of us, but we are very conscious that while we’re naturally excited to ‘grow up,’ our stance against becoming just another big agency will not waiver. These hires are just the beginning and we are super excited to see where they can take us.”

Morrison said: "I’m thrilled to be joining Clarity at such an exciting point for the business. I’ve long admired Clarity’s belief in the power of technology to be a power for good, and look forward to bringing that vision further to life as we build a new kind of marketing communications agency.’’

Recent client wins for Clarity, which has offices in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, Amsterdam and Cornwall, include Momentive (formerly SurveyMonkey), and being named agency of record for LexisNexis Risk Solutions in the UK and Ireland. It has also expanded its work for long-standing client OwlLabs from the UK to the Benelux region.
