LONDON--Global risk consultancy Control Risks Group has brought in Brunswick as its global PR firm, after parting ways with Cubitt Consulting earlier this year.

Brunswick takes charge of the six-figure brief following a competitive review that featured a handful of London-based PR firms.

Cubitt Consulting earlier stood down from the account, and has since secured corporate and financial PR duties from Control Risks Group rival Salamanca Group. Cubitt had worked with Control Risks since 2009.

Control Risks specialises in helping organisations manage political, integrity and security risks in complex and hostile environments. The firm’s services encompass such areas as corruption prevention, political analysis, threat assessment and crisis response - all of which are aimed at supporting their clients’ international operations.

It is understood that the company is aiming to raise its profile and highlight its corporate security capabilities. A Control Risks representative confirmed the Brunswick appointment.

In recent years Control Risks has seen its revenues boosted by increased work for oil companies in Iraq. Demand for its services has also risen in tandem with the escalation of hostage-taking activity in the Horn of Africa.
