LONDON — Growing digital agency Coolr has further expanded its senior team with the appointment of Robert Curtis as its first commercial director.

It’s the third senior hire made by Coolr CEO Adam Clyne in as many months, after Facebook’s Audrey Moir came on board as director of operations and Anthony Sheldrake joined as chief technology officer.

Curtis joins Coolr from Graduway, a technology platform that builds alumni networks for the education sector, where he was head of sales and business development.

He is based in Tel Aviv, and will be tasked with expanding Coolr’s offering across the Middle East in addition to leading the digital firm’s global sales efforts. Curtis said: “I have been watching Coolr’s growth for a while and am excited to join this unique proposition in the digital landscape – particularly with their Workplace by Facebook partnership.”

Clyne said: “Workplace is gathering huge traction across the world and is creating a fundamental shift in the way that scaled companies communicate and collaborate. The Middle East is a recognised hub for digital innovation so it made sense for us to build a base in the region; we are now actively engaged in client conversations there.”

And he added: “Robert is a world-class commercial leader and we are fortunate to have him join us on this journey. He brings a depth of experience in how tech platforms can transform a large organisation from within.”

Coolr announced its first social media client, Burger King, this summer, and was behind the recent Kanye West/McDonald’s tweet that saw the brand garner over one million likes.
