LAKE FOREST, IL—Brunswick Corporation has named Kevin Grodzki vice president, communications and public affairs, reporting to Mark Schwabero, president & chief operating officer. Grodzki will be responsible for directing activities related to internal and external communications, managing Brunswick's organizational relationships within its industries as well as community and government relations. He joined Brunswick in 2000 as president and chief executive officer of the company's life fitness division.

WASHINGTON, DC—Lorri Christou has joined Cruise Lines International Association as senior vice president, strategic marketing and communications. She will design, lead and implement a global communications strategy to promote the association and ensure unified messaging across multiple stakeholders. The newly created position reports directly to the CEO. Most recently, Christou was an executive vice president at Edelman in the Chicago office’s consumer marketing practice. Prior to joining Edelman, she served as vice president, integrated communications, Dairy Management Inc.

SAN MATEO, CA—Falguni Bhuta, head of marketing communications at Opera Software US, is taking on a new role as vice president, heading up communications and engagement marketing for the Opera Mediaworks mobile advertising business, an independent mobile advertising platform that competes globally with Google, Facebook, Twitter and Yahoo. She joined Opera in 2008, having previously worked at Krause Taylor Associates and Red Herring magazine.

ATLANTA—Cox Automotive has named David Doolittle to the newly created position of vice president of communications and community relations to improve market reach and industry visibility. He will be responsible for leading external and internal communications, as well as community relations, for all of Cox Automotive’s brands, including AutoTrader.com, Kelley Blue Book, Manheim and more. Doolittle joins Cox Automotive from consumer products marketer Newell Rubbermaid, where he was vice president of global communications, and earlier worked at Ketchum.

LOS ANGELES—The Los Angeles Dodgers have appointed Naomi Rodriguez senior director, external affairs and community relations. Prior to joining the Dodgers, Rodriguez served as senior director of public affairs, marketing and communications for nonprofit Los Angeles Universal Preschool. She also held positions DirecTV; with former Los Angeles Mayor James Hahn; and the Los Angeles Consulate General of Israel.

SANTA MONICA, CA—Kite Pharma, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing engineered autologous T cell therapy products for the treatment of cancer, has named Claudine Prowse to the newly created position of senior vice president, corporate communications and investor relations. She will report to Cynthia Butitta, chief financial officer and chief operating officer. Previously, Prowse served as the vice president of investor relations at Biogen.
